As an academic physician and busy parent, Penny Knapp has only begun to have more time to paint in recent years. Knapp loves plein aire painting, and is most drawn to the evanescent intrigue of light and reflections.
Penny studied painting at the University of California Davis Art Department while on the faculty of the School of Medicine, at the Mendocino Art Center, and at the La Romita Art school in Umbria, Italy.
